The second Passover,

¿Just what is it? ¿Did Christ kept this commandment? ¿and if he did, when? ¿should Christians today follow Christ’s example and keep this so neglected feast of God?

By Miranda Torres C.

The religious world have misunderstood, about when was the time that Jesus Christ kept His first Passover, and assumed without enough evidence, That Jesus the Christ fulfilled this beautiful feast described in (John. 2:13) as been His first Passover, and yes He did, ¿But was it really in the first month Abib, as God commanded Moses, Aaron, and The Israelites in (Exo. 12)?.

To get to the bottom of this confusion, we have to go back to the book of Exodus chapter 12, let’s read. Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying: This month shall be your beginning of months, it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak to all the congregation of Israel saying: On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb according to the house of his father, a lamb for a house hold. And if the house is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons, according to each mans need you shall make the account for the lamb. ! YOUR LAMB SHALL BE WITHOUT BLEMISH, A MALE OF THE FIRST YEAR YOU SHALL TAK IT FRON THE LAMBS OR FROM THE GOATS, NOW YOU SHALL KEEP IT! UNTIL THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF THE SAME MONTH!.

Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. (Exo. 12:1-6) this was an everlasting ordinance, throughout our! GENERATIONS! (V: 17-18) And you shall observe this things as an ordinance for! YOU AND YOUR SONS FOREVER! (V: 24) Notice that this feast was to be kept in the month of Abib or Nisan, in the 14th as an ordinance forever. Also very important to have in mind, that the lamb had to be choose in the 10th of the same month, a male without blemish,

¿who is that and what does this represent...? NO OTHER THAN JESUS CHRIST THE MASSIAH, OUR PASSOVER LAMB (1Cor. 5:7, 1Pet. 1:19, Isa. 53, in special verse, 7) ¿How do I’ know that this was called the month Abib or Nisan? See (Exo. 13:4, Deut, 16:1, Neh. 2:1, Esther. 3:1) and specially (Exo. 9: 31) where it says, Now the flax and the barley were struck, for the barley was! WAS IN THE HEAD! And the flax was in bud. (The expression in “the head” means GREEN EARS Hebrew, ABIB,) that’s why the name Abib, because the barley is in the reaping stage.

This very same feast is mentioned again, in (Lev. 23:4-5, Num. 9:1-5, 28:16, Deut. 16:1-2) Even Ezra kept it with the descendants of the captivity, (Ezra. 6:19-22) The prophet Ezekiel inspired by God remind us again in (Eze. 45:21). When God repeats something all over, it must be because He want us to get it wright, and do it, Now many might say, we already know this and what does this have to do with Christians today?, or is it important to know whether Jesus Christ kept it or not?. I’ just can tell you that yes it has a lot to do with us today, and only Messianic groups, and other religious organizations who understand and keep the !TRUTH! FEASTS OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD, WILL UNDERSTAND THIS BEAUTYFUL SECRET! And come to the truth,

Let’s get right to the point and find out what’s the mystery in this subject. ! FATHER HELP US ALL TO UNDERSTAND THIS TRUTH AND ACEPT IT AS IT IS, we the ones who try to keep and understand, and live by your whole and inspired word, have been neglecting this! SECOND PASSOVER! AND HAVE NOT FOLLOW JESUS EXAMPLE AND STEPS! (1John. 2:6 and 1Pet. 2:21) and as your word, which Jesus said it was the truth: (John. 17:17) and because you never tell a lie. (Tito. 1:2)

To really understand this commandment, we must go back to the book of (Numbers, chapter 9), where we read: Now the LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying: Let the children of Israel keep the Passover at its appointed time. On the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight (Hebrew between the two evenings, at 3:00 pm when Christ died), you shall keep it at its appointed time. According to all its rites and ceremonies you shall keep it. So Moses told the children of Israel that they should keep the Passover. And they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month, at twilight, in the wilderness of Sinai, according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did.

Now there were certain man that were defiled by human corpse, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and they came before Moses and Aaron that day. And those man said to him: We became defiled by a human corpse. Why are we kept from presenting the offering of the LORD at its appointed time among the children of Israel? And Moses said to them: Stand still that I ‘might hear what the LORD will command concerning you. Than the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel saying: If anyone of you or your posterity is unclean because of a corpse! OR IS FAR AWAY ON A JOURNEY! He might still keep the LORD’S Passover. ! ON THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF THE SECOND MONTH! at twilight, they might keep it. They shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. They shall leave none of it until morning nor! BREAK NONE OF HIS BONES, According to all the ordinances of the Passover they shall keep it. But the man who is clean and is !NOT IN A JOURNEY!, and ceases to keep the Passover, that same person shall be cut off from among his people because he did not bring the offering of the LORD at its appointed time, that man shall bear his sin,

And if a stranger dwells among you, and would keep the LORD’S Passover, he must do according to the rite of the Passover and according to its ceremony, you shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger and the native of the land. (Num. 9:1-14) you better read this twice, because there are many important points that need to be overlooked. Now we are going a few books ahead where king Hezekiah commanded that the temple should be cleansed and repaired it, they also had to sanctified themselves, you have to read the whole chapter (29 in the book of 2Cron.) and verse (15) says: And they gather their brethren, sanctified themselves, and went according to the commandment of the king,! AT THE WORDS OF THE LORD! , to cleanse the house of the LORD. Then the priests went in to the inner part of the house of the LORD to! CLEANSE IT! And brought out all the debris that they found in the temple of the LORD the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it and carried to the brook kidron.

Now they began to sanctify on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the vestibule oh the LORD. So they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days,! AND ON THE SIXTEENTH DAY OF THE FIRST MONTH THEY FINISHED. (V: 15-17) As we see here they did not have enough time to finish cleansing the house oh God. So they could not keep the Passover on the appointed day by the LORD, which was on the first month, where they supposed to choose the lamb on the 10th and kill it on the 14th of Abib. What did king Hezekiah decided to do next? And! IT WAS APPROVED BY THE LORD, AS WE WILL SEE!

And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the LORD God of Israel. For the king and his leaders and all the assembly of in Jerusalem had agreed to keep the Passover! IN THE SECOND MONTH! For they could not keep it in the regular time, because a sufficient number of priests had not consecrated themselves, nor had the people gathered together at Jerusalem. And the matter please the king and the assembly. So they resolved to make a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem, since they had not done it for a long time in the prescribed manner,

Then the runners went throughout all Israel and Judah with the letters from the king and his leaders, and spoke according to the command of the king: Children of Israel, return to the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, then He will return to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the king of Assyria. And do not be like your fathers and your brethren, who trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, so that He gave them up to desolation as you see. Now do not be stiffed-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the LORD, and enter His sanctuary, which He has sanctified forever, and serve the LORD your God.

That the fierceness of His wrath may turn away from you. For if you return to the LORD, your brethren and your children will be treaty with compassion by those whose lead them captive, so that they may come back to this land, for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.

So the runners passed from city to city to the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun, but they laugh at them and mocked them. Nevertheless some from Asher, Manasseh and Zebulun humble themselves and came to Jerusalem. ! ALSO THE HAND OF GOD WAS ON JUDAH TO GIVE THE SINGLENESS OF HEART TO OBEY THE COMMAND OH THE KING OF THE LEADERS, AT THE WORD OF THE LORD GOD. (2Cron. 30:1-12) from here I ‘will go a length and mention the verses needed for this article. Notice in (V: 13) says that the assembly kept the feat of unleavened bread in the second month, and slaughter the Passover lambs in the second month also (V: 15) its repeated in (V: 18) The Lord God provided atonement for everyone, who prepared their heart to Seek God, (V: 19)

Some might say that this was only a command from king Hezekiah, but let’s read this verse, ! AND THE LORD LISTENED TO HEZEKIAH AND HEALED THE PEOLPLE! So the children of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept. The feast of unleavened 7 days praising God day by day and singing to the LORD. And Hezekiah gave encouragement to all the Levites who taught the good knowledge of the LORD, and they ate throughout seven days offering peace offerings and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers. (V: 20-22) They clearly kept this festivity in the second month, and not just that, but it was! COMMANDED BY GOD! (V: 12 and 20)

When the Lord speaks, is because it has to be a command, and mostly if He repeats it many times, as in this case (Num. 9: 9-13) Why did I’ mentioned all of this, and what has to do with Jesus Christ and us today? Simple: Jesus did the very same thing as I ‘will prove it, the word says:! PROVE ALL THINGS! (1Tesa. 5:21) not very many respect or celebrate the! THE REAL FEASTS OF GOD AS MY SELF AND OTHERS DO AND UNDERSTAND! The majority of Christians today, don’t even try to know this, or what laws of God should we keep today. I’ just can tell you that if you go outside of your house and look around towards the sky and everywhere, you can still see the earth and heaven, !THEY STILL HERE SO ARE GOD’S LAWS! Because Christ unequivocally said: Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets,

I’ did not came to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly I say to you:! TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS A WAY! One jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law! TILL ALL IS FULFILLED! (Matt. 5:17-18) the expression “the law or the prophets” means that Christ will not annulled! THE TORAH (Hebrew instruction of God) OR REPLACE ALL THE PROPHETS! Plus the expression “till all is fulfilled” also means something very significant, please pay attention to this next verses: For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead, for as in Adan all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming, THEN COMES THE END!, when He(Christ) delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He(Christ) puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He (Christ) most reign till He (the Father) has put all enemies under His feet (of Christ). The last enemy that will be destroyed is death (that means when we all are immortals spiritual beings) For He (the Father) has put all things under Christ’s feet, But when He (the Father) says all things are put under Him (Christ) it is evident that He (the Father) who put all things under Him (Christ) !IS EXCEPTED. Now when all things are subject to Him (the Father) then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him (to the Father) who put all things under Him (Christ)! THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL! (1Cor. 15:21-28)

! WHAT A WONDERFUL TRUTH! It is right here where! ALL IS FULFILLED! It is at this very point that the eternal laws oh God, have to be abolished simply because we all be! SPIRITUAL BEINGS! What a beautiful passages are this, full of spiritual meanings. My point here is that those festivities were to be kept forever till all is subject to the Father.

Or are we not the ingersion? Or the wild olive tree? That we gentiles ought not to keep them? (Rom. 11:11-26) or you better read (Num. 9:14) where it says, And if a estranger dwells among you, and would keep the Lords Passover, he must do according to the rite of the Passover and according to its ceremony,! YOU SHALL HAVE ONE ORDINANCE, BOTH FOR THE STRANGER AND THE NATIVE OF THE LAND!, that estranger is !! US THE GENTILES THAT ARE THERE, WE ALWAYS HAVE BEEN THERE, WE ARE THE MIXED MULTITUD THAT CAME OUT OF EGYPT, FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! Read (Exo. 12:38) every time that you come across the word “stranger” you better read it twice, because this mystery is been there all the time, But was not uncovered until (Rom. 11:11-26).

In the future not very far, I’ will be writing about, this subject (Gentiles) and some verses that have confused many, and its interpretation such as: (Col. 2:14, 16) and what the Apostol Paul means when he talks about the law, in Romans, Galatians, and Colossians. This can’t be possible the! SCRIPTURE CAN NOT BE BROKEN! (John. 10: 35) Paul once said of the law: Therefore the law! IS HOLY, AND THE COMMANDMENT HOLY AND JUST AND GOOD! (Rom. 7:12) and the Father said so of His Son, He said: The Lord (Father) is well please for His righteousness sake, He (Christ) will exalt the law and make it honorable. (Isa. 42:21) by keeping it as He did in the New Testament, as His Father declared it, let’s switch books and open your Bible in the Book of John.

We’ll see how Jesus fulfilled this commandment of the second Passover, every religious groups, scholars and so forth, have been wrong Biblically about this so called Jesus Christ’s first Passover, I’ thoroughly agreed in this theory, but Christ was celebrating the !SECOND PASSOVER! Which it was His first, at the beginning of His ministry, let’s see in how all of this next verses fit together very nicely and discover the secret once end for all.

Now this is the testimony of John when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, who are you? He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, I’m not the Christ, and they asked him, what then? Are you Elijah? He said I am not, Are you the prophet? And he answer No, then they said to him, who are you that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself? He said I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness make strait the way of the Lord, as the prophet Isiah said.

Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees, and they asked him, saying, why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet? John answer then saying, I baptize with water, but there stands one among you whom you do not know. It is He who, comes after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose, These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing, (John. 1:19-28).

All of this events believe it or not, happened! IN THE VERY 9th DAY OF THE MONTH ABIB! Notice carefully in how John the Baptist choose the Lamb of God, the scripture says thus: The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said:! BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD! This is He of whom I said. After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, I did not know Him, but He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water, (V: 29-31)! THIS IS THE 10Th OF ABIB WHERE THE ISRAELITES SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE THE LAMB FOR THE FORGIVING OF THE SINS THAT HAD TO BE KILLED AT THE 14th OF THE VERY SAME MONTH! (Exo. 12:1-3) Christ is our Passover Lamb (1Cor. 5:7) (1Pet. 1:19) (Isa. 53 specially V: 7) compare with (Apo. 5:5-6, 13:8, 14:1-4, 17:14).

It is Him, Jesus Crist, John the Baptist as a witness even said: I’ saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I’ did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me: Upon Whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. And I’ have seen and testified that this is the Son of God, (V: 32-34)

Notice what the Scripture says next: Again the next day (! THIS IS THE 11th OF ABIB!) John (the Baptist) stood with TWO! of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said: BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD! (V: 35) This is the! SECOND TIME THAT JOHN CHOOSES JESUS AS THE LAMB OF GOD! Why? Simply because of the first and second month, but that’s not all, there is another reason of why the Christ was elected twice as the Lamb of God, (to know about this you would have to read the book that I am working on, entitle: (the real passion of the Christ, and its secrets). We follow the sequence. The TWO of disciples heard Him speaking and they followed Jesus. Them Jesus turned, and seen then following, said to them, what do you seek? They said to Him, “Rabbi “(which is to say, when translated, Teacher) where are you staying?, He said to them, come and see, They came and saw where He was staying and remained with Him that Day (now it was about the tenth our) One of the TWO who heard John (the Baptist) speak and follow Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. (V: 36.40)

Notice that in how the Scripture says that, John the Baptist only had TWO disciples, but here is a little secret in verse (41) Notice carefully, He (Andrew) first found his own brother Simon (Peter), and said to him, ! WE HAVE! Found the Messiah, (which is translated, the Crist) what do this verse means “WE”? (V: 37) says that only the TWO disciples of John Followed Jesus, The secret is that it was Andrew and John the beloved disciple of Jesus, and the writer of this book, this two were with John the Baptist, one of this two disciples, which is Andrew found ! PETER! Notice the next verse, and he (Andrew) brought him (Peter) to Jesus, now when Jesus looked at him, He said, you are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas (which translated, A Stone)! WONDERFUL!

The following day wanted to go to Galilee! THIS IS THE 12th OF ABIB (V: 43) the next verse in chapter 2 verse (1) starts thus:! IN THE THIRD DAY THERE WAS A WEDDING IN CANA OF GALILEE. CLEARLY THIS DAY IS THE 13th OF ABIB, Now this day is the seventh and last day of this wedding, not just because the very next day is the Passover day, but the Bible itself tell us that a Jewish wedding last a week, see (Gen. 29:27-28) and with the Lord one day is a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2Peter. 3:8) In the plan of God, there are 7000 thousand years, it represents the wedding, the bride is us, Christ would be the husband. As we all know.

I’ know for fact that this was the 13th of Abib the very 6 water pots that were there, (V: 6) were supposed to be for their purification, right before they eat the Passover, (John. 18: 28) The very next verses bear witness of this, when the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said: Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have the good wine until now. (V: 9-10)

This was the beginning of signs Jesus did! IN CANA OF GALILEE! And manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him. After this He went down to! CAPERNAUM!, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples, and they !DID NOT STAY THERE MANY DAYS. (V: 11-12) Notice first of all, that they went down to Capernaum, and that they did not stay there many days, ¡why is this? Because the very next day is the! FIRST FEAST OF PASSOVER, IN THE FIRST MONTH AT THE 14th DAY OF ABIB! Jesus did not stay there many days because the day after the 14th, is the day of! UNLEAVENED BREAD the 15th till the 22nd this feast, was to be kept for 7 days, (Lev. 23: 6-8) and the 15th alone with the 22nd! ARE ANNUAL SABBATHS, AND JESUS HAD TO KEEP THEM!! He cannot travel from Capernaum to Jerusalem, to keep the annual Passover at its appointed time; !!BECAUSE HE WAS IN A JOURNEY!! CHRIST CAN NOT BREACK HIS FATHER’S COMMANDMANT (Exo. 12:14-20) and verse (15) loud and clear says, that the person not keeping this two feasts, SHALL BE CUT OFF FROM THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL! THAT MOSTLY MEANS HE SHALL DIE!, As an example for our salvation, Jesus was cut off from the land of the living,(Isa. 53: 8)

So Christ was keeping the Passover and the feast of unleavened bread, in Capernaum with His mother and disciples, He could not keep it at Jerusalem, clearly the distance from Capernaum to Jerusalem on foot, would take Them like, 35 hours (163.9 km) it would be impossible for Jesus to be at the feast on time even if He would travel by night.

Let’s read the very next verses and come to the conclusion once end for all,

Now the PASSOVER! Of the Jews! WAS A HAND! And Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business, (John. 2:13-14) This is the second Passover and Jesus’s first from His ministry, Jesus was 30 years old, the age for a man to start his ministry and services at the temple of God, see (Num. 4:3, 23, 30, 35, 39, 43, 47,) He was and is the “priest after the order of Melchizedek” (Gen. 14: 18-19, Heb. 7: 15-21),

Here in this verses (John. 2:13-14) Jesus Christ is doing the very same thing that the priests did in (2Cron. 29:15-16)! HE WAS CLEANSING THE HOUSE OF THE LORD AS THEY DID! But that’s not all, this event in (2Cron. 2: 13-16)! IS RIGHT BEFORE THE FIRST PASSOVER. In the second Passover they did the very same thing all over again read it on (2Cron. 30: 14) and guess what? Jesus Crist the Messiah did it twice too, one time right here at His first Passover, but in the! SECOND MONTH! The next time was at His third and right before His death, (Matt. 21: 12-13, Mark. 11: 15-17, Luke. 19: 45-46)

When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers money and overturned the tables, And He said to those who sold doves, Take this things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise! Then His disciples remembered that it was written, THE ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE HAS EATEN ME UP!! (John. 2: 15-17) Christ had this zeal for His Fathers business that He even kept the second Passover (John. 2:23) He was in a journey, because He was staring His ministry and choosing His disciples.

Now many might say, that it can’t be because where are the 40 days and nights of His fasting and temptation? This would be another explicit and detailed study, ! THE SCRIPTURE CAN NOT BE BROKEN! (John. 10: 35) and it never will, therefore my responsibility is to! PROVE ALL THINGS! (1Tess. 5: 21) I ‘just can tell you that this event did not happened! AFTER HIS ENCOUNTER WITH NICODEMUS! (John. 3: 1-21,) and after the events with John’s the Baptist disciples and Jesus’s disciples (V: 22-36) Then you read in chapter (4) Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples), He left Judea (which is very close to Jerusalem) and departed again to Galilee,!! BUT HE NEEDED TO GO THROUGH SAMARIA, (John. 4:1-4) ¿why did He needed to go to Galilee!! THROUGH THE WILDERNESS OF SAMARIA? I’ll let you think about it.

Now, what do we get from this? Simple, we always listen to a!!MAN!! And no God, (Jer. 17: 5) the religious organizations that keep the Sabbaths and Feasts of the Lord. Had been deceived and misunderstood this beautiful festivity, which is commanded and approved by God Himself. (Num. 9: 9-13, 2Cron. 30: 12, 20) We ought to walk and follow the steps and example of the Messiah, if we say that He abides in us (1John: 2: 6, 1Peter. 2:21), Thanks God for this beautiful truth. Have peace in your heart, mind, and spiritually, feel free knowing the truth, (John. 8:32) Amen.
